Nine pooches are dressed to the nines in this card game where the dogs steal the show. Roll the die and use your memory to find dogs hiding in the game board. The only catch is that you must collect them in numerical order.

The first player to collect all nine canines in a row wins the blue ribbon!

Components

  • 36 canine cards
  • 1 custom die
  • Instructions

Object of the Game

The object of the game is to be the first player to collect all nine cards in order - from K-1 to K-9 - to complete the dog show scene.

Setup

Shuffle all 36 cards and place them facedown in a six by six grid. Youngest player goes first and play moves to the left.

Game Play

On each turn, roll the die to see how many cards you can turn over from the grid. If you roll a 3, turn over three cards of your choice faceup for all players to see. If you roll a 2, turn over two cards. If you roll a 1, turn over one card only.

In order to take a card out of the grid, it must match a number that you need. All players collect cards in numerical order, starting with the 1 card, then the 2, then 3, 4, and so on.

If any of the turned over cards match a number you need, take them out of the grid and place them faceup in a row in front of you.

Multiple cards may be added to your row in a single turn.

Place your collected cards faceup in row

If there are faceup cards left in the grid that you can not collect, turn them back over before the next player rolls the die.

Try to remember which cards you've already turned over, so that you can try different cards on future turns.

Here are some examples:

  1. If you roll a 3 on your first turn and you turn over the 7, the 2 and the 5, you cannot collect any of them because you haven't collected the 1 yet. Turn the cards back over, but try to remember where you saw them, because you'll need to collect those cards later.

  2. Let's say you've already collected the 1 and the 2 cards.

If you turn over the 4, you cannot take it yet. But try to remember where you saw the 4, because once you collect the 3 on a future turn, you can go back for the 4 on your next turn.

  3. Now you've already collected cards 1 through 5. On your next turn, you turn over the 1, the 8 and the 6.

You can collect the 6 because it is the next card you need, but you already collected the 1 and you can't collect the 8 until you get the 7. So turn the 1 and 8 back over.

Lucky Dog

If you can collect ALL the cards that you turn over, you get to roll the die again and take a bonus turn. For example, let's say you already have cards 1 through 4.

On your turn, you roll a 2 and you turn over cards 5 and 6. Collect them both, then roll again for another turn!

End of the Game

The first player to collect all nine canine cards in numerical order wins.
