Object of the Game

Collect sets of 4, 5, or 6 adjacent cards of the same color.

But beware, the cards are double-sided, so if opponents see a set on the backs of your cards, they can take them! Whoever collects the most cards wins.

Setup

  1. Assemble one card holder per player. To assemble a card holder, find one female and one male half and join them together by sliding one down into the groove of the other.

  2. Shuffle the deck of cards and stack it in the center of the playing area.

All players should draw 6 cards and place them left to right in their card holders, in order from 1 to 6.

Important: Draw cards so that only you see the undersides. Place them in your holder with the undersides facing you and the backs facing out, so the other players don't know the colors on the inside.

Also, you may not look at the backs of the cards in your holder!

Game Play

The person with the most colorful socks goes first and play continues to the left.

On your turn, always take two actions from the list of six shown below, in any order.

Note: If you chose to score as your first action, you can still take a second action after you replenish your cards.

Actions (Choose 2 per turn)

  1. Flip

You can flip a card around in any holder (yours or an opponent's), so that the back (outside) becomes the front (inside). This is the only way to see the backs of your cards!

  2. Switch:

You can switch the position of two cards in your or any other player's holder.

  3. Swap 1:

You can swap any one of your cards with another player's. To swap, take (or request by number) any one card from another player's holder and replace it with one from yours. Don't flip the cards! You give and get the colors you see.

  4. Swap 2:

You can swap two adjacent, same-color cards from your holder with two adjacent, same-color cards in another player's. As with swapping 1 card, don't flip the cards - what you see is what you get.

  5. Score:

Collect a set from your holder. If you have 4, 5, or 6 adjacent same- color cards in your holder, remove and show everyone your set, then put them in a scoring pile in front of you. Immediately draw enough new cards to refill your holder to 6.

  6. Swipe:

Collect a set from an opponent's holder. If you see 4, 5, or 6 adjacent same-color cards on the backs of another player's cards, you can take their set! However, you must give them one card. Place cards in your scoring piles: they get 1 and you get the rest. The player whose set you stole immediately draws back up to 6.

End of the Game

The game ends as soon as any player cannot draw enough cards to fill their holder back up to 6. At this point, anyone with a set of 4, 5, or 6 facing them in their own holder can collect it. (The rest do not count).

All players count their scoring piles and whoever has the most cards wins! In case of a tie, whoever has the most of any one color wins.

Variation

For an added challenge, give each player 3 tokens (poker chips, coins, buttons, etc).. On your turn, you may "buy" a third action by turning in a token.

Use your extra actions carefully!

Two-player Rules

In a two-player game, you may also draw the top card from the center deck as one of your actions.

Remember: only you see the underside. If you choose this option, you must swap it with one of your 6 cards. Place the old one at the bottom of the center deck.
